Busy February: Part 1

I apologize for not posting anything sooner. We have had a busy February and I would love to tell you about all the fun things that we have been doing. After I returned from Birmingham Matt's wonderful parents came to Yuma to help us with our backyard landscaping. The big task at hand was laying a brick patio and believe me it was a BIG task! Since I am pregnant I was not able to help as much as I would like to but Steve, Kay and Matt did a superb job. It looks wonderful and has definitely started us in the right direction for finishing the job. Below are some of the pictures of the massive and wonderful job they all did. We can never thank Kay and Steve enough!

Trip to Birmingham

I recently got home from Birmingham and had a wonderful visit. It was great to see so many of you and it sounds like everyone is doing well. The love that I felt from our family and friends at the baby shower was overwhelming. I appreciate all the baby items that we received and know that baby Alexander is going to use and love all of them. I want to say thank you to Abbey for all of her hard work in getting the shower together because I know how busy she is. I have posted some pictures of all the fun that we had at the shower.

The rest of the week flew by as I was busy completing the baby's wardrobe with style that is not available in Yuma. I enjoyed getting to see all the family and being able to go to Sarah's state indoor meet. She did really well and ran the 4x200, 400, and 4x400. Their team won the 4x200 and the Hoover girls placed second overall in the 6A division. Here are some pictures from the meet.

Now that I home I am ready to get everything set up. I will be posting pictures of the nursery once it gets ready. Thank you again to all that came to the shower and for the beautiful gifts.

Yuma Lettuce Days Festival

This weekend was the Yuma Lettuce Days Festival. For those of you who are not up on your Yuma, AZ knowledge, Yuma is the winter lettuce capital of the nation because we have the ideal winter weather. Matt and I decided that it would be fun to see what happens at the Lettuce Festival. There were vendors set up along Main Street with some performers and some contests for kids. Overall it was a pleasant day to be out in our community. We took some pictures of the festival and had to include the corvette that was being raffled off. We also needed to include a picture of Ashton because Mom wants to see how he is doing. This is Ashton and I at home. We hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Yuma Craft Fair

This weekend we didn't have much scheduled and so we decided to participate in our local community by attending a craft fair. It was held on Main street in downtown Yuma. There were vendors selling jewelry and other craft items. It was nice to get out and be involved in our community. We then had to stop and have some ice cream. It was nice to have a quiet weekend where Matt didn't have to work. We hope that you all had a good weekend as well.

Her first glamour shot

I thought that some of you might want to see the picture of our little one. It is amazing what they can do with technology. This was done back during the first week of December and so I am sure that she has grown a lot since then. I know that she is definitely going to be a runner since she cannot stand for me to sit still. We are told that the due date is still April 16 and so I am spending most of my time getting the nursery ready. I am planning on coming back to the Southeast at the end of January and staying for a week and a half. Hope to see some of you soon!

Our new webpage!

We finally decided to join everyone in setting up a webpage. We love being able to read about what everyone else is up to and thought that this would be an easy way to keep ya'll up to date on what is going on with us. We hope that we will be good about updating this site with pictures and posts, especially once our little blessing arrives!
