Ready to party!

Emma Kate is getting excited about meeting all our friends and family in Alabama. We finally got one of her big smiles on camera. We want to say thank you again to the Buchinas for letting us borrow some cute baby clothes!

My First Swim

This past week we had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton in Phoenix. It had a lovely pool and so we decided that Emma Kate should have her first swim. She liked it at first but a few minutes later she wasn't very impressed. It was a bit colder than her bath. We know that over time she will grow to love the water!

Updates

We are so excited about our backyard. It is finally done and we appreciate Mom and Dad Alexander coming out to help us with it. Emma Kate and Ashton have been able to enjoy it a little bit. It is a little hot (104!!!) and so we hope that the sod takes well. I also wanted to put pictures up of Prom 2007. Sarah had her senior prom and she went with Kyle. Nelson came in to town to go with Katelyn. They all looked wonderful and Abbey was able to see them when they were taking pictures. We hope to see everyone soon!

Emma Kate is starting to smile a lot now. We have yet to get a great picture but here is our shot at it. Love to all!

Fun Week

We have had a fun week. We got our jogging stroller and so we can all go run as a family. Emma Kate loves the stroller so much that she falls asleep as soon as we put her in it. She also enjoys wearing her running shoes when we go for our runs. I have also put a picture of her trying to push herself up. She has gotten pretty good at holding her head up and so now we are working on pushing up.

We are so excited for Aunt Sarah and Katie Carroll as they graduate from Hoover with IB degrees. We wish we could be there and look forward to seeing pictures! Love to all.

Apologies to Deborah

I want to start out by saying sorry to Deborah for not getting these pictures up earlier. I have become so scattered brained ( I guess that is what the lack of sleep will do to someone). Deborah came to visit us in early March and we had such a lovely time. We were able to go to Algodones, Mexico and then had lunch at a local eatery. Deborah and I got a little out of hand (just kidding!) We had a wonderful visit and look forward to Deborah's next visit to Yuma! We love you Deborah!

Happy Mother's Day

We had a great first Mother's Day. Matt and Emma Kate made me breakfast in bed after Emma Kate had her breakfast earlier than usual (joys of being a mother) and was then wide awake 3 1/2 hours before church. After church we had lunch with some friends from church and then came home and worked around the house. It has been a great day and I am just so blessed to be a mother. We wish that we could have seen our Mother's today, but we know that they are in our hearts. I am including more pictures from Gran-Gran and Daddy Steve's visit and some more from this week.
